Terrapins to Hold Red-White Scrimmage Saturday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland men’s basketball team will host the annual Red-White intrasquad scrimmage at 1:00 p.m. in Comcast Center Saturday, October 26.

Fans are encouraged to enter Comcast Center through Gate E. Parking options include utilizing the gameday football parking pass or parking at Terrapin Trail Garage for $15.

Coach Turgeon and selected student-athletes will be available to the media directly after the open practice.

A year removed from a 25-13 season and a trip to the NIT semifinals, the Terrapins are poised for a breakout season in head coach Mark Turgeon’s third year at the helm.

Maryland returns six scholarship players to the fold this season, including All-ACC honorable mention forward Dez Wells (13.1 ppg) and guards Seth Allen (7.8 ppg) and Nick Faust (9.4 ppg). Meanwhile, forwards Charles Mitchell, Shaquille Cleare and Jake Layman, in addition to transfer Evan Smotrycz, will provide the Terps with plenty of options in the frontcourt.

The Terrapins open the season with an exciting matchup against Connecticut in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Friday, November 8 at the Barclays Center. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
