Continuing to build its 2014 recruiting class, the University of Maryland has received a commitment from point guard Romelo Trimble.
The 6-foot-2 guard made his decision last week before the news became public on Thursday morning. Trimble is regarded by many as a top 50 player for the Class of 2014.
Trimble averaged 20 points per game as a sophomore in the competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference last year and began receiving attention from the Terps upon moving from shooting guard to the point guard position last summer with the D.C. Assault AAU program.
Coach Mark Turgeon told Trimble he intended to take two guards for his 2014 recruiting class and the lifelong Terps fan wanted to seize the opportunity to play for his favorite school.
