It really DOESN’T matter who the starting QB is Thursday night, as the starter can clearly be changed before Sept. 7. If you’ll remember; Kyle Boller played only sparingly at the end of his first preseason game before being named starting QB going into his first regular season with the Ravens.
If this is all a ploy for John Harbaugh to announce a starter tonight on the flagship; I will have serious problems.

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-I liked a lot of what I heard at Media Day yesterday. I liked the fact that Ralph said he wants to establish his depth chart earlier in August. I think it is IMPERATIVE that Ralph knows who is team is before the season starts; not as the season progresses. I did NOT like the thought that multiple QB’s might be used. No matter whom it is, this team needs to have ONE starting quarterback. I really get the feeling that it will be Jordan Steffy; but either is a fine choice. The only way the Terps should use multiple QB’s should be if there is an injury issue; or if they have a special package for Josh Portis somehow.
-Congratulations to Edgar Prado on being inducted into Horse Racing’s Hall of Fame. It is a very deserving honor for a man who has had a very storied career.
-Peter Schmuck is wrong. The outcome of last night’s game DID matter. Yes, the Orioles showed great heart in rallying after midnight to tie the game. But a loss is a loss-even if you get 4 runs after 2 outs against the game’s best closer. The Orioles STILL lost; and they HAVE to learn how to finish games.
Dennis Sarfate shouldn’t have been in the rotation to begin with. Hayden Penn should have that spot. Best of luck to Chris Waters; but I’m not expecting much.
-Is the Alan Taylor that bought the Baltimore Mariners the same Alan Taylor from Alan Taylor Communications? I wish someone of actual significance would get involved in Arena Football in this city.
Talk to you tomorrow.
-G
