Tuesday Morning’s Crabs and Beer

Greivis Vasquez IS doing the right thing by staying at Maryland; but is Maryland getting the right thing by having Greivis Vasquez stay?
We don’t know for sure yet if Greivis is capable of being an ACC point guard; but we know he wants to prove he can be. We think that the addition of Tyree Evans could help Greivis become better at the point; but we don’t know that for sure.
We do know for sure that the two point guard system from a year ago will absolutely not work; no matter how much Eric Hayes might develop while studying under Steve Blake.
What does your starting five look like right now for the Terps next season?
I’ll say Vasquez, Evans, and Bowie in the backcourt; and Milbourne and Gilchrist up front (Dupree until Gilchrist is available).
Would you have preferred to see the General go?
I have to admit that I don’t really know how much potential Greivis has without improving his shot. If he improves his shot; I want him here. If he doesn’t; he is doomed to be nothing more than the focal point of an ongoing argument.
Let’s see what everyone else has to say…..

-The umps did the right thing by trying to let the Birds and White Sox play out yesterday, and did the right thing by suspending it in the end. If Cabrera can control even his own control issues (yes, I just basically said “control his control”); things will improve for him. The hitting is a bigger issue. Garrett Olson could do wonders for this organization by improving at the big league level starting tonight.
-Good to see Fabian Washington has a positive attitude about coming to Baltimore. If he can play, I’ll have a positive attitude too.
-Congratulations to Hopkins on clinching an above .500 finish to their season. It will be good for lacrosse for them to be in the Tournament.
-Best of luck to Shane Walker in the future.
-Erin Henderson will make the Vikings’ roster. Andrew Crummey could be a steal for the Chargers.
-It will be beneficial for Navy to play a few games on the west coast against San Jose State. The Poinsettia Bowl helps, but they need to have scheduled games for West Coast recruits to attend.
-O.A.R. has a new song floating around the interwebs called “This Town”. It is absolutely outstanding (as if I would expect anything different). I was hoping to find it on iTunes, but they have not offered it yet. If anyone has a good version they could send to me, I’d be greatly appreciative. If you want to check out the song, visit their website, the song is playing in the background. Also, check out the cover of Zepp’s “Fool in the Rain” that they recorded with Robert Randolph on iTunes. Robert Randolph is a veritable genius.
Talk to you tomorrow.
