From everything I’ve gathered, the Jordan Williams situation is not a big deal for the Terps. Certainly it is embarrassing, but it doesn’t appear to be anything that will affect Jordan Williams moving forward on the court. In fact, the charges can possibly be dismissed if Jordan agrees to participate in an anger management program.
I do not know the details of the arrest (nor does anyone else), but from what I could gather in speaking to people yesterday who know about law enforcement, these are usually the types of charges that come from minor incidents where a fight was involved. It shouldn’t reflect on Jordan Williams being some sort of violent character.
With all of that being said, it is NOT okay for a Division 1 athlete to put himself in those types of situations. Jordan Williams is an important part of what is expected to be a renaissance for Gary Williams’ program. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jordan was suspended for the exhibition game this season (similar to how Greivis Vasquez was last season), but I would find any further punishment unlikely.
Let’s see what everyone else has to say….

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-I hear Drew talking about how the Orioles should be a 70+ win next season, and I can only think to myself “with what players?” Having Chris Tillman and Brian Matusz take a step forward would only solve PART of this organization’s problem.
-Tom Kelly? I guess. Certainly he’s a guy who knows a thing or two about winning, but I think if the Orioles are really committed to winning, they need to go with a younger guy who can grow with the players but already knows about winning. I said before that Bob Melvin would be my guy, and I still think he should be.
-The Ravens WILL have interest in bringing back Prescott Burgess, but I doubt he ends up back in Baltimore. Burgess was let go because the team just didn’t have room for him on the roster anymore. They don’t suddenly have any.
Talk to you tomorrow.
