Turgeon adds another weapon to Maryland backcourt

The Maryland Terapins basketball team appears to be welcoming in a new addition Sunday, as InsideMDsports is reporting that former Albany guard Logan Aronhalt will be transferring and playing basketball for Mark Turgeon at College Park in 2012.

Logan Aronhalt

Aronhalt announced that he was transferring last month due to academic concerns. Having already received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science, Albany did not allow him to continue his studies at the master’s level, so he decided to move on.

Aronhalt will have one year of eligibility remaining as a grad student and can play in the 2012-2013 season.

He averaged 13.8 ppg and 4.3 rebounds for the Great Danes last year in the America East conference, and had double-digit performances against Syracuse, Pittsburgh, and Maryland.

He will immediately be called upon to provide depth in a back-court reeling from the loss of All-ACC guard Terrell Stoglin, who announced his decision to go pro after just two seasons in College Park.
