When Drew Forrester says that people in the organization are saying Flacco is still in the picture; I am still not surprised. As I said before all of this started, everyone in the organization has had or will have to look at each other at some point this month and say “You know, Flacco is the one who looks the most like a real QB.” We all know Flacco is going to be the QB this year. It is merely a question of when they pull the trigger.
Let’s see what everyone else has to say…..

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-Look, other first time starters have impressed for the Orioles before. Chris is not reaching uncharted “Waters”. (I worked on that all night). I DO think he has earned another couple starts at this level, from which they can decide if they want to invite him to big league camp. Hayden Penn should get Dennis Sarfate’s spot.
-The Orioles should NOT bring back Adam Jones if there is even a question moving forward. We saw what we needed to see from him this season. We KNOW he’s going to be special. Hopefully keeping Jay Payton in the lineup might garner some trade value before Aug. 31. Lou Montanez deserves the opportunity at the Major League level as well; as you just never know.
-If the Orioles HAVE made a decision on Dave Trembley’s future, I cannot fathom why they would wait to make the announcement. Hopefully Trembley already knows.
-The news reported by Sandra McKee this morning is staggering. Joan Moag told Drew a few weeks back that he believes horse racing needs to do a better job of presenting the product. Whatever the problem is; it is frightening to imagine how close we are to horse racing being a total afterthought in this state.
-I think what Ralph is seeing in his depth in College Park-from guys like Torrey Smith, Bruce Campbell, and Davin Meggett is a definite example of why this Maryland team will be better than expected.
Talk to you tomorrow.
