After today, I’m not spending any more time talking about Monday Night Football. I will however say that even if it was inappropriate for an official to degrade Samari Rolle by calling him “boy”, it neither cost the Ravens the game-nor does it justify Bart Scott’s freak out. The only thing that should happen here would be an apology.
It’s time to move on to Indianapolis. One win over the Colts wouldn’t salvage a season, but continued positive signs against good teams could help decide how this team should be put together for next season. There are plenty of story lines for us to talk about with the Colts this week (Crazy I know!), and the Patriots are moving on to a game with the Steelers.
Let’s see what everyone else has to say…

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-Anybody want to share their thoughts on a Bedard for Kemp/Broxton/Kershaw/TBA deal? I didn’t think so. I think its okay, but I’d rather a more major-league ready starting pitcher be involved.
-Erin Henderson could probably use another year at Maryland before entering the NFL Draft, but Brian Brohm thought the same thing last year, and it may have cost him not just a #1 overall pick, but being a 1st round pick at all. Henderson would get drafted based on athleticism, potential, and his brother’s reputation; but no higher than the late first round/early second round. With another year, Erin could become one of the top linebackers in the country. I will not blame him for leaving if he chooses though.
-Paul Johnson’s interview at SMU will not be his last. There are better jobs available for him. He will decide what’s best for him, and no one can blame him if he chooses to go. He also deserves to be honored as Coach of the Year, as Mark Mangino did not win a significant game all season.
-UMBC suffered a tough loss at a good Wichita State team. Hopefully they will learn from this heading into America East play.
-My Live Sports Pick for Wednesday is the Lumber Liquidators Championship at Country Club Lanes. I know this sounds crazy, but there is actually a Pro-Am, and our hometown boy Danny Wiseman will of course be there. It seems odd to see bowling live, but until I can bowl a 200 regularly, I won’t take anything away from these guys. Also, niche sports are ALWAYS fun live. I’ve been to the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island, the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, and even a Marathon. They’re fun; and the people there are REALLY into the events.
Talk to you tomorrow.
-G
