Wednesday Morning’s Crabs & Beer

February 13, 2008 | Glenn Clark

I want to be more excited about the Orioles; I really do. I’m not there yet. Look, I’m excited that they’re partially rebuilding; but there are still not a whole lot of reasons to actually want to watch this team this season. This should have happened eight years ago. Instead we got to see Marty Cordova.
Look, I’ll wear an Orioles hoodie today; I’ll wear a Cal throwback later this week. I’ll sing the praises of 2 for 10 trading to anyone who will listen to me every day. But I have to say that going into the season; Nick Markakis is really the only reason I want to watch this team. I’m just hoping there become more reasons as the season goes along.
What will keep you excited when this team is 20 games out in July?
Let’s see what everyone else has to say….

-Tony Giro is wrong. Maryland is IN the tournament right now no matter what happens Wednesday at Duke. That being said; there is NO REASON to not think the Terps could win at Cameron. I’m not saying they will; but there is no reason to think they couldn’t. They are more than capable.
-Morgan State hosts South Carolina State tonight. Morgan State could well be on their way to the NCAA Tournament. Go support them. Coppin State and UMES are also at home.
-Welcome Coach Mattison. We hope you’re also part of something special here.
Talk to you tomorrow.
