Week 3 NFL picks

September 22, 2016 | Dennis Koulatsos

Week 2 was much better in regards to predictions, as I went 11-5 bringing my season total to 18-11.  Let’s take a look at this week’s matchups, with the winning teams in bold:

Texans at Patriots – Houston is playing some good ball right now and the Pats have some big questions at QB. I’m looking for the upset here by the visiting team.

Cardinals at Bills – Don’t know that Rex Ryan will make it to mid-season.  Brutal schedule straight ahead beginning with the no-nonsense Cards. Bills start 0-3.

Raiders at Titans – I’m a believer in the Titans, and I believe they will take down the Raiders at home. Don’t think the silver & black is quite ready for prime time.

Redskins at Giants – This one is worth the price of admission just to see the Josh Norman/Odell Beckham Jr. fireworks!  I’ll take the men in blue in this one.

Browns at Dolphins – Two bad – really bad – teams here, so we’ll take the one that’s in front of their home fans to win this one.

Lions at Packers – The Pack is going to be in a bad mood which is bad news for the Lions. Look for Aaron Rodgers and company to bounce back.

Broncos at Bengals – I’ll take the Broncos in this one.  Yes, the Broncos’ defense is that good, and it looks like the Bengals are not as good as they were a year ago.

Vikings at Panthers – Hard to pick against Cam Newton and company at home, and I’m not going to do it.  At least not for this week.

Rams at Buccaneers – The Bucs are for real this year and are playing some good ball on both sides.  Rams can only beat the Seahawks.  I decided.

Niners at Seahawks – If this game was at Levi field I’d probably be picking the 49ers.  But it is not so I will go with the banged up Hawks at home.

Jets at Chiefs – Jets offense is clicking and their front seven is downright fearsome. Everything here screams Jets, so I will take the Chiefs.

Chargers at Colts – Two teams going nowhere. Let’s take Andrew Luck on what figures to be a high scoring affair.

Steelers at Eagles – Carson Wentz is the real deal, and the Steelers’ weak secondary will finally be exposed.  Fly Eagles Fly.

Bears at Cowboys – This one’s easy – Bears are woeful. Pokes have a decent shot due to their offensive line and running game. Dak Prescott has to take care of the football.

Falcons at Saints – Saints will win in the SuperDome in a what should be a high scoring shootout. I’ll take Drew Brees over Matty Melting Ice Ryan any day of the week – and twice on Sundays!

Ravens at Jaguars – Jags were a sexy pick to make the playoffs in the pre-season, and have started 0-2. Don’t think they have enough to take down the Ravens, who look improved on both sides of the ball.
