Drew’s Morning Dish — Thurs., April 18

On Thursday’s show, Liz Harlan will join me (7:45 am) to discuss the development of “The Erika Brannock Fund”.

Brannock is the Towson teacher who was at the Boston Marathon finish line watching her mother compete when the bombs exploded in her vicinity.  Liz is Erika’s former boss and close friend.

The 29-year old Brannock is going to survive her injuries, but unfortunately lost part of her leg in the explosion and will now live the rest of her life as an amputee.  She faces a long road to recovery and will need both spiritual and financial support to help make that recovery a reality.

I’m going to spend a lot of time over the next few months helping The Erika Brannock Fund and would encourage you to do the same.

For starters, please visit the web site HERE  and make a donation if you can.

As always, the WNST community will reach out and help.

I’m sure of it.

Thanks.

I don’t know what Chris Tillman did LAST season, but he should go back to doing it.

With no options remaining, Tillman’s in a very precarious position if he keeps putting up starts like he did last night against a pretty woeful Tampa Bay offensive unit.

Of course, Adam Jones and his suddenly non-compliant glove didn’t help matters either.

But Tillman just doesn’t look the same.

Might be time for Buck to have the tough talk with him and put him on notice.

“Let’s go kid.  We don’t have much longer…”

Listener/read Corey sent me a scathing e-mail yesterday criticizing me for my “take” on the Capitals and their playoff chances.

“As a relatively new fan of the Caps, I find your negativity disturbing,” he wrote.

“Why is it that the media always look at the dark side of things?”

I wrote Corey back and asked him when he became a Caps fan.

“2008″ was his answer.

Well, that explains it.

I go back to 1974.

I’ve seen it all.

Every playoff collapse…I’ve witnessed, including those in the “Ovechkin Era”.

Trust me, NO ONE wants to see the Caps succeed in the playoffs more than me.

But I know what’s going to happen.

Because it always happens.

LOL at Chip Kelly.

I swear, these college coaches who cheat and then run for cover into the pros crack me up.

If the NCAA had any stones at all, they’d suspend Kelly for ten years.  That way, when his gig with the Eagles dries up in three seasons, he’ll actually pay the price for his shenanigans at Oregon.

RUSH goes into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame tonight.

Which means, of course, that the the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland is now, officially, the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame.

Geddy Lee.  Neil Peart.  Alex Lifeson.

Nothing like those three…

Way to go boys!!!

Thanks, for the information on the Erika Brannock Foundation, Drew. Just another in a laundry list of good things you and WNST do for our community! You can count on my financial support and I have already solicited my friends and family to support this worthy cause as well……

The NCAA, the NFL, NBA, and the NHL (to a lesser degree) need to come together to address these cheating coaches and to somehow penalize them at the professional level so that they can’t run and hide…….and for the record, I’m a Seahawks fan!

Didn’t they do something like that for Tressel from Ohio State when he was trying to get a job with the Indy Colts?
