BENIMON NAMED MVP OF REESE’S COLLEGE ALL-STAR GAME AT FINAL FOUR
Tiger forward posts 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead East to an 87-75 victory

DALLAS, Texas.
– Towson senior forward Jerrelle Benimon posted 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds en route to being named Most Valuable Player of the 2014 Reese’s College All-Star Game, which was played at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on Friday night.

Benimon led the East to an 87-75 victory over the West team. Benimon shot 7-for-8 from the floor and added two assists and a block to his stat line in 19 minutes of action.

“I really enjoyed the experience of being out at the Final Four and participating in a game with some of the top seniors in the country,” said Benimon. “In the first half I was focused on getting my teammates involved and then my shot really started to fall in the second half. It was a blast being back out on the court and to be playing with and against so many talent players from so many great programs.”

Will Sheehey of Indiana added 13 points and Karvel Anderson of Robert Morris had 12 for the East team, which led by more than 20 in the second half before coasting down the stretch.

Davion Berry of Weber State had 15 points to lead the West.

The game was played on the same floor inside AT&T Stadium where Kentucky will play Wisconsin and Florida will face Connecticut in the national semifinals on Saturday night.

The Reese’s College All-Star Game consisted of 20 of the top senior college basketball players in the country who have exhausted their eligibility. It is one of the most significant events held as part of the Final Four weekend.
