Top 10 Baseball Distractions

8. Glenn Clark’s 2012 KanJam Championship (Saturday 12pm Glenn Clark Compound)

It IS a private event, but I’m willing to entertain the idea of guests. If you want in, email me glenn@wnst.net.

You have to be at LEAST this good…

OR you have to be willing to supply grilled cheese sandwiches with some sort of neat homemade recipe. For example, a grilled cheese with ham, pimentos and homemade pickles is something I can get behind.

7. Soccer: Germany @ Team USA Women (Tuesday 7:30pm from East Hartford, CT live on NBC Sports Network); MLS-DC United @ Chicago Fire (Saturday 4pm from Bridgeview, IL live on NBC Sports Network); College Soccer: Lehigh @ Maryland (Tuesday 7:30pm Ludwig Field), Clemson @ Maryland (Saturday 7pm Ludwig Field)

I was going to post the video of the guy throwing the grenade on the pitch and the dude running into a goalie, but no one would have appreciated that MORE than they’d appreciate Will Ferrell hawking Old Milwaukee in Sweden. Just glorious.

6. Preseason NBA: Washington Wizards @ Miami Heat (Wednesday 8:30pm from Miami live on Comcast SportsNet), Washington Wizards @ San Antonio Spurs (Wednesday 8:30pm from San Antonio live on Comcast SportsNet)

Why is it that Deron Williams might play the Brooklyn Nets’ first (real) game with a Betty White tattoo?

You know, just read Yahoo! Sports’ post about it. I don’t have time for your questions.

5. High School Football: Perry Hall @ Franklin (Friday 7pm), Calvert Hall @ Archbishop Spalding (Friday 7pm), McDonogh @ Gilman (Saturday 1pm)

What did you do when you were in High School? I (believe it or not) was the Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper and the Sales Manager for the Yearbook. I also just realized what a nerd that makes me sound like. Christ.

ANYWAY…here’s Austin Rehkow. All he’s going to be able to say he accomplished in high school was kicking a field goal a full FOUR YARDS longer than anything a NFL kicker has ever made. WORD.
