JERRELLE BENIMON NAMED CAA MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior forward averaged 21.3 points and 10.0 rebounds in Towson’s 2-1 week
RICHMOND Va. – Towson University senior forward Jerrelle Benimon was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league on Monday.
Benimon averaged 21.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in Towson’s 2-1 week. The senior forward scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 75-69 victory over Temple, tallied 21 points, 14 boards and a career-high six assists in a 95-75 win over Morgan State and had a team-best 11 points in a loss at Villanova.
For the week Benimon shot 46.3 percent from the floor and was 26-of-31 (83.9 percent) from the free throw line.
The CAA Rookie of the Week award was shared by Canyon Barry of the College of Charleston and Omar Prewitt of William & Mary.
