Towson looks to stay undefeated Sunday at Villanova

UNDEFEATED TOWSON TRAVELS TO VILLANOVA ON SUNDAY

Tigers take on Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Fox Sports 1

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Towson men’s basketball team will play its third game in six days as the undefeated Tigers travel to BIG EAST foe Villanova on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

The game can be seen live nationally on Fox Sports 1 with Mike Corey and Stu Jackson on the call.

Fans can also listen to the game on the Towson Sports Network (TSN) with Spiro Morekas and Vince Angotti calling the action.

Towson (3-0) has won its first three games to start a season for the first time since 1972. The Tigers are coming off a 75-69 win over Temple on Thursday.

Senior Jerrelle Benimon guided Towson past the Owls with a career-high 32 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Senior Marcus Damas, who is the only Tiger to score in double figures in each game this season, posted 16 points and 10 rebounds against Temple for his first double-double since Nov. 26, 2011.

Villanova (2-0) is coming off a convincing 90-59 victory over Mount St. Mary’s on Wednesday. Junior JayVaughn Pinkston leads the Wildcats in scoring at 21.5 points per game. Senior James Bell is averaging 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

The Wildcats are shooting 51.3 percent from the field this season while holding their opponents to just 34.3 percent.

Villanova has won all four meetings between the squads, but the teams have not played since 2008.
