Towson’s postseason run ends with loss to Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. – The Towson men’s basketball team saw its record-setting season come to a close on Thursday night as the Tigers fell, 85-73, at Murray State in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

Towson, which set a Division I program record for wins in a season, ends the year at 25-11. The 2013-14 Tigers set numerous records this season, including winning the first two Division I postseason games in school history and playing the most games ever by a Tiger squad.

With the win, Murray State improves to 21-11 overall and 15-1 at home. The Racers will host Pacific in the semifinals of the CIT on Tuesday.

Senior Mike Burwell led the Tigers with 20 points, while All-American candidate Jerrelle Benimon finished with 18 points and nine rebounds.
