UMBC Tries to Snap Losing Streak Tuesday Against Hartford

UMBC will try to shake off a difficult loss and snap a four-game slide as the Hartford Hawks visit the Retrievers in America East action on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The Hawks are looking to end a five-game losing skein. Tip-off time is set for 7:00 p.m. All UMBC home basketball games are streamed on

RETRIEVER UPDATE: UMBC has increased its offensive output in the last two contests, scoring 76 points in losses to Albany and Maine. The Retrievers have shown grit, shaving off 15 points off a 24-point deficit in the second half at Albany and rallying out of a 10-point hole with less than six minutes to play to force overtime vs. Maine on Saturday. Soph. forward Chase Plummer (14.5 ppg) returned after a one-game absence (concussion) and scored 24 points vs. Maine and junior guard Ryan Cook (13.5 ppg) averaged 24.5 points per game last week.

HAWK UPDATE:  The Hawks are getting good balance offensively, just not enough of its. Five different players have led UH in scoring in the five game slide, averaging 50.0 ppg in that span. Senior guard Andres Torres is the lone Hawk to average in double figures at 11.8 ppg, and he is scoring at at 13.2 clip in league play.
