After showing potential for a good season on Friday against Virginia, UMBC came out and routed UMES in a 102-65 win.
They set many record. It was the most points while at the Division I level (102), most points in a half (59 in the second), tied for most three’s (14), most assists (28), and largest margin of victory since 1991.
Michelle Kurowski led all players in both points and rebounds with a double-double (22 points and 14 rebounds). She went 7-12 from the field and 4-5 from three point range. She came up just three assists away from a triple-double with seven.
Meghan Colabella is certainly having a fine start to the season as she had another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while also recording three blocks. She went 5-8 from the field and 4-6 from three point range.
Three other Retrievers recorded in double-digits. Carlee Cassidy recorded 18 points, going 6-10 from the field and 4-7 from three-point range.
Erin Brown came off the bench to provide a good boost with 13 points and Topé Obajolu recorded 11 points with five rebounds.
Three other Retrievers scored in the game, Chrissy Robinson scored a career high nine points and Chelsea Barker and point guard Katie Brooks scored seven. Brooks also had a fine game with just six assists and five rebounds with only three turnovers.
