The UMBC women’s basketball team showed no reason they belonged on the same court as Hartford on Tuesday night in a 85-45 loss.
While UMBC almost won, and probably outplayed Hartford, the last time these two teams met, this time the story could not have been more different.
UMBC allowed just two points shy of 50 at the half way point, and could only manage to get 19 on their own. It only took Hartford seven minutes to get a double digit lead over UMBC, and just nine minutes to keep it for good.
Carlee Cassidy led UMBC with 13 points and made three three-pointers while Tope Obajolu was the only other Retriever to score in double-digits, as she tossed in 10 points.
