The girl next to Joe Flacco in the above picture is WNST station manager Ashley Bishoff. I think the appropriate word to describe Ashley would be “petite.” HOWEVER, Ashley has a history in the wing business herself (she was formerly a Hooters girl) and believes herself capable of taking down 32 boneless wings herself.
For the record, I don’t really think Ashley counts as competition. I FIRMLY believe I am going to destroy her.
What’s the real point of all of this? It’s simple. We’re hoping to raise a boatload of money for an area charity. This year’s charity is the Baltimore Child Abuse Center. With the Jerry Sandusky trial very much a part of our national conscience at this moment, it felt fitting to make the BCAC our benefactor. Here’s Baltimore Child Abuse Center’s mission statement, taken from their website BCACI.org…
Baltimore Child Abuse Center (BCAC) provides a gateway for hope, justice and solutions for victims, families, and professionals fighting sexual child abuse. BCAC focusing on interventionwhen abuse is reported, treatment to aid in the healing of survivors and their families, education around recognizing, preventing, and reporting suspicions of abuse, and advocacy at the local, state and national levels.
BCAC is a not for profit agency forged in collaboration to provide better outcomes and responses for children and family dealing with child abuse. Providing services for law enforcement, social services, and prosecutors, BCAC investigates more than 1,000 cases of child sex abuse each year. Supported by the generosity of foundations, corporations and individuals as well as government grants, BCAC has 25 years of experience in recognizing, responding to and reporting child abuse and utilizes this experience to conduct these detailed forensic interviews, prepare reports, and testify in criminal and civil proceedings regarding the child’s interview, mental development and psychology of disclosures. BCAC is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance and is the third oldest child advocacy center in the United States. Today over 800 centers are in operation.
In honor of the 32 boneless wings we will be attempting to devour, we hope you’ll pledge a $32 donation. Or a $320 donation. Or a $3,200,000 donation. Or a $3.20 donation. Whatever you can afford.
Please feel free to stop by the studio at 1550 Hart Rd. in Towson any day between now and the 29th with your donation, or mail your donation to…

Returning this year is the very talented Dennis Schocket, who will be providing the soundtrack for the festive morning. I’m aiming for a bunch of John Mellencamp covers myself.
Also, June 29 is the first day of my first ever vacation since joining WNST. I’m planning to fly to Europe that afternoon. Like I said, I’m not the best decision maker. I hope you’ll prove better in that area than I. PLEASE make your pledge to support BCAC. Please join “Team Glenn” or “Team Ashley.”
And please be there to hold my hand when this all goes the wrong way next Friday morning.
