4. Calvert Hall-Loyola football – A slice of Americana. This game matters to the kids. It matters to the parents. And for the alumni, who often travel from all over the country to come back for a Thanksgiving ritual that defines the two schools, their heritage and their still-very-significant present, you don’t need to have attended Calvert Hall or Loyola to appreciate that this is a tradition unlike any other in Baltimore prep sports. I usually watch it on TV but my Facebook timeline explodes every year for this one.

One bright spot out of the awful decision by Maryland to move to the Big 10 is that this will be a conference game.

The best Capitals playoff game I ever attended was Game 4 of the 1998 Stanley Cup … since I AM a Wings Fan!

… oh, and some of us underprivileged public school folks will gladly swap out #4 for the much older and much more traditional, but hardly recognized City – Poly football game that has been renewed 125 consecutive times. GO CITY!
