2. Opening Day – It ain’t what it used to be but what is, right? At one point the game was the big deal about the Baltimore Orioles first home game of the spring but now it’s evolved into an extended St. Patrick’s Day booze-fest. Kinda like the Preakness where not many go to watch the horses, you can usually see in the later innings that many didn’t have nine innings in them. But, when the weather is right, and more specifically if you really love or ever loved baseball, it’s hard to mess up Opening Day when hope springs eternal and all of Peter Angelos’ employees roll out in tuxedos. This year, perhaps they’ll back up the promise that it’ll be the beginning of something special for Buck Showalter and the men of orange…

    One bright spot out of the awful decision by Maryland to move to the Big 10 is that this will be a conference game.

    The best Capitals playoff game I ever attended was Game 4 of the 1998 Stanley Cup … since I AM a Wings Fan!

    … oh, and some of us underprivileged public school folks will gladly swap out #4 for the much older and much more traditional, but hardly recognized City – Poly football game that has been renewed 125 consecutive times. GO CITY!
