It was a rough night for Charm City Electric on Tuesday. 19-8 and 18-8 losses sent us to a quick two game exit from the playoffs. A good way to describe our team on Tuesday night was that we sucked. I couldn’t get anyone out pitching, we couldn’t field, we couldn’t hit. We were just awful. Leading the way in the pathetic performance was me. I just didn’t have it. Couldn’t put the ball where I wanted to on the mound and couldn’t hit. I was 1-5 on the night with a meaningless hit late in the first game. I have had my ups and downs since I came back to play a few years ago. This is undoubtedly the worst I have played since I have been back. Before Tuesday I had been pretty good in the playoffs but not on Tuesday night. It’s the kind of performance that seriously makes you think about walking away from the game.
Game one was against Manhattan Grille. It was a tight 1-0 game thru two innings. That’s when the wheels fell off the cart. They scored a run to go up 2-0 the scored two more when our right fielder dropped the third out of the inning. In the fourth they scored eight runs, six of them with two out, and we were staring down a 12-3 deficit heading into the fourth inning. We rallied for a few runs to cut the lead to 12-6 but could never really put together a good inning and ultimately got 10-runned after five innings to drop into the losers bracket.
