I’m not even a LITTLE surprised by the fact that Josh McDaniels won’t be interviewing for the Ravens gig or any others. Has anyone heard of Eric Mangini? The “Man Genius” is viewed by Bill Bellichick as a snot-nosed kid who is ungrateful for the opportunities afforded him by The “Great Hood-ini“.
From what I’ve been told by former Patriots players, McDaniels‘ promotion to Offensive Coordinator was supposed to be a slap in the face of Eric Mangini. It was supposed to be something along the lines of “You want to walk away from me? I’ll replace you with someone even younger, with FEWER credentials, and with practically no ability to coach. He’ll do just as well!” If that’s the case, the scenario worked.
I’m not sure that Josh McDaniels is even a capable Coach. That might be part of the reason why Bellichick would try to keep him from interviewing elsewhere. Even if he is, do you really think a pale 31-year old could take control of this disastrous locker room?
I don’t like any of the candidates. I actually prefer Mike Tice to any of them. Also, if Steve Biscotti truly believes that the Ravens are still Super Bowl contenders; he should offer draft picks to the Titans for Jeff Fisher. Fisher is the only Coach in the NFL who I believe could win with this roster as is.
Let’s see what everyone else has to say…

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-”Ozzie Newsome remains with this organization because Steve Biscotti respects Art Modell. Not because he trusts Ozzie.” This was something I was told by a former Raven who now works in the media. If I disagreed, I’d tell you now.
-Two BIG EVENTS in Baltimore tonight. “Family Night” at Loyola is AWESOME. $1 Tickets, $1 Concessions, ESPNU cameras, and WNST. It gets no better than that. If for SOME reason you can’t make it out, go see the Blast host Tony Meola and New Jersey tonight at the Arena.
-Kudos to Gary for getting rid of the name plates, pictures, etc. I think a certain “General” may have benefited from it most.
Talk to you tomorrow.
-G
