Wednesday Morning’s Crabs and Beer

October 21, 2009 |

I thought John Turner’s decision to blast Debbie Yow was out of line. I think there is CERTAINLY an argument that Maryland might need to consider what the priorities are for the role of Athletic Director now that Debbie has done a great job in getting the department out of serious debt. However, publicly calling for the job of the University’s Athletic Department-especially DURING football season-reeks of someone trying to place blame somewhere BESIDES the football team for being 2-5.

The football team is 2-5. Debbie Yow is the athletic director, Ralph Friedgen is the coach, and Chris Turner is the quarterback. They are all to blame. Chris won’t be back next season. Ralph and Debbie almost certainly will. Each will have questions to answer moving forward.

Let’s see what everyone else has to say….
