Chris's Bio
Growing up on Baltimore's southwest side, Chris developed a love of the city's sports teams, thanks to John Steadman's writing and Chuck Thompson's voice. Those influences led the Mt. St. Joe and Loyola College grad to a sports media relations and new media career. He worked in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints (2000-05) as the club's Manager of Media & PR, and later, Director of New Media, and with the Atlanta Falcons (2006) as New Media Producer. Prior to the NFL, he worked on the sports information staffs at UAB, George Washington and Loyola. In between a pair of stints at UAB, he was the Class-AA Birmingham Barons' Director of Media Relations, including the 1994 season when hoops star Michael Jordan played for the club. A veteran of media relations work at major sports events, he has been part of the NFL's staff at eight Super Bowls and assisted at other events including the BCS National Championship Game, NCAA Men’s and Women's Final Four, MLB All-Star Game and the Goodwill Games. He brings his insight on the NFL's inner workings as an analyst each week on WNST and through his "Blog And Tackle" on WNST.net.

On a day when the weather was gloomy and the energy level in Paul Brown Stadium was non-existent in a place where the Ravens hadn’t won in three previous tries, Baltimore took Cincinnati, and specifically defensive back Leon Hall, to the woodshed in a 34-3 victory over the Bengals. Wide receiver Mark Clayton had a huge ... Read More »
Fresh off a bounce-back victory over Philadelphia that gave John Harbaugh a win over his former employer, the 7-4 Ravens see that not much has changed in the race for the AFC playoffs. Pittsburgh is still one game ahead in the AFC North standings. Indianapolis has used a four-game win streak, and a last-second victory at ... Read More »
We’ll get a better idea about this over the next couple of weeks, but the 6-4 Ravens seem to be playing to a form that says they are good enough to beat the bottom half of the league, but not good enough to beat the best clubs just yet. Victories over 1-8-1 Cincinnati, 4-6 Cleveland (twice), ... Read More »
An interesting Week 11 is almost in the books, outside of a Buffalo-Cleveland game tonight that Bills need to win to join a pack of five other teams with a 6-4 record in the tightly jammed AFC. The Ravens had a chance to get their first impressive victory over a definite playoff-bound team but were exposed ... Read More »
In all of the hoopla surrounding the Orioles’ uniform unveiling, one slick bit of marketing seems to have gone unnoticed, except for some of us who are amateur uniform watchers, especially of the Baltimore team variety. The circular patches on the new road and home jerseys have the same orange border that surrounded the old “Swinging ... Read More »
Here are some quick observations on the NFL at the league’s halfway point before getting into a longer look at the Ravens later this week. The best team in the NFL: New York Giants. Despite losing Michael Strahan, having strained relations with Plaxico Burress and managing the post-Super Bowl hangover, Tom Coughlin has done a remarkable ... Read More »
