Corey's Bio
Born in Baltimore, Corey Johns has dreamed of becoming a sports writer since he was in fifth grade. As the son of a collegiate soccer coach and an Orioles fanatic, sports have always been a big part in Corey's life. He played little league soccer and baseball until he started high school at Calvert Hall. While at Calvert Hall Corey wrote for the Student Newspaper for four years, covering football, basketball, and cross country. Also, while at Calvert Hall Corey was a four year starter on the Rugby team and during his senior year he joined the football team. Now Corey attends UMBC. During his first two years Corey was a beat writer and covered every team the school has. He has covered the NCAA men's basketball tournament in 2008 and back-to-back NCAA men's lacrosse tournaments in 2008 and 2009. Now as a junior Corey has worked his way up to being the sports editor.
