Drew's Bio
The only person in the history of Baltimore sports-talk to attend Game 2 of the 1983 World Series, shoot 64 in golf (twice) and sit next to Dave Grohl on a flight from Baltimore to Cleveland (1997), Drew is the host of The Comcast Morning Show from 6am-10am Monday through Friday. Topics routinely range from the Ravens, Terps and the Orioles and their decision to not improve the team for the (insert number of years here) consecutive season. His favorite movie is "Wiggle Bay" and his favorite member of Little Einstein's is June. Drew's son Ethan said, "Daddy, why do the Flyers stink so bad?" when he was only 8 days old. "Gotta start 'em young," the proud papa said that night.

Six days ago, everyone in the Mid-Atlantic was bellyaching about how Maryland got the shaft by being jammed in the Midwest region and having to possibly do battle with the likes of Kansas, Georgetown and/or Ohio State. So much for bellyaching. Kansas is out. Georgetown is out. And the Terps have a smooth path to Indianapolis. They’ll ... Read More »
The next time you want to take a swipe at Gary Williams, I suggest you replay Maryland’s Friday night’s NCAA tournament win over Houston. One team was completely out of control, running up and down the court like they were trying to impress scouts at the NFL combine. The other squad was masterfully aligned by their ... Read More »
After a season-long waltz through the MEAC and a second straight conference tournament championship, Morgan State - to borrow a horse racing term - stepped up in class on Friday afternoon and faced Big East champ West Virginia in the first round of the NCAA tournament. It was akin to going from 6 furlongs to ... Read More »
How do you say, “Relief pitching is best for me” in Japanese? That’s the story for Koji Uehara in 2010, as he will start the campaign in the bullpen after his debut season in the major leagues - as a starter - was cut short due to injury and the perplexing case of his inability to ... Read More »
With a handful of veteran NCAA coaches getting dismissed on Monday, you’d have to understand if Towson coach Pat Kennedy put his cell phone on silent over the last 24 hours and left it on the kitchen table. Six years into his tenure at Towson University, Kennedy is still looking for his first .500 campaign with ... Read More »
It’s not a shock, but Tiger Woods is returning to golf. Woods announced this morning he’ll play in this year’s Masters (April 8-11) after missing all of the first three months of the PGA Tour while dealing with personal issues. The return makes sense for Woods in a number of ways. First, of course, is the fact ... Read More »
Last Friday morning, I announced a concept designed to bring together 9 groups of parent/child two-somes who will all attend this year’s Orioles home opener together on April 9. I dubbed it “Drew’s First Game Gang” because the theme centers on a parent taking his/her son or daughter to their first-ever O’s home game. I purchased 18 ... Read More »
Just to get all of the fancy disclaimers out of the way: I’ve been a Washington Capitals fan since 1974. I’ve probably been to over 400 Caps home games in my life, most of them at the old Capital Centre and about 40 or so at Verizon Center. I think Alex Ovechkin is a great player. Now that’s ... 1. Maryland’s gonna have a tougher time with Houston than people think — but not because Houston’s all that great. Maryland was a VERY good team at home this year and a BARELY good team on the road. And all of their stinkers came away from home. And as we saw on Friday night against ... Read More »
What’s the old saying? ”Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once.” That’s what Todd Bozeman heard this time last year when he guided the Morgan State Bears to the MEAC title and a trip to the NCAA tournament in his third season on Hillen Rd. Do something once…and your critics always say, “Let’s see if you ... Read More »
