Drew's Bio
The only person in the history of Baltimore sports-talk to attend Game 2 of the 1983 World Series, shoot 64 in golf (twice) and sit next to Dave Grohl on a flight from Baltimore to Cleveland (1997), Drew is the host of The Comcast Morning Show from 6am-10am Monday through Friday. Topics routinely range from the Ravens, Terps and the Orioles and their decision to not improve the team for the (insert number of years here) consecutive season. His favorite movie is "Wiggle Bay" and his favorite member of Little Einstein's is June. Drew's son Ethan said, "Daddy, why do the Flyers stink so bad?" when he was only 8 days old. "Gotta start 'em young," the proud papa said that night.

We’re having a very special New Year’s Eve edition of The Comcast Morning Show on Wednesday. Because we’re airing the Bud Light Purple and Black Attack tomorrow from 9am-11am, we’re going to start one hour earlier than normal on Wednesday. The show will start at 5:00 am and we (Glenn and I) are dedicating the first hour ... Read More »
File this Ravens season under the category: Good things happen to good people. It’s that simple, almost. Steve Bisciotti - Good people. Dick Cass - Good people. Ozzie Newsome, Eric DeCosta, George Kokinis, Pat Moriarty - All good people. Kevin Byrne - Good people. His staff - good people. So many to name, I won’t…’cuz if I leave someone out, ... Read More »
Let the spin machine begin. “Mark Hendrickson is a decent acquisition.” “Hendrickson’s relief numbers are acceptable. His ERA in relief is just a tad over 3.00″ “He can get left-handed hitters out.” What a joke. The Orioles are going to pass this Hendrickson signing off on us as if it’s some kind of suitable repair to a wrecked pitching staff. Patchwork, ... Read More »
Leave it to the Orioles and their foolish ways to force me to write a baseball blog the day after the Ravens make the playoffs. Last year, the O’s had a theme: ”Welcome to Birdland”. This year, it must be: “Watch us - we’re TRYING to lose!” How else can you explain the signing of Mark Hendrickson? Hendrickson ... Read More »
Take a look at this video highlight. It’s the day the Ravens’ 2008 season changed for the better. This time last year, Joe Flacco was just completing his senior season at the University of Delaware, where he led the Blue Hens to the Football Championship Subdivison title game before bowing to Appalachian State. Today, he capped off ... Read More »
I realize the Yankees don’t really need me to defend them. I’m sure they have a team of high-powered, highly-paid lawyers who can handle their defense quite well. In the aftermath of “TexGate08″, we’re still hearing and reading from folks in Baltimore about how “unfair” it is that New York ponied up $180 million for ANOTHER baseball ... Read More »
In the end, they both got what they wanted. Mark Teixeira wanted to go a franchise that contends and plays exciting baseball well into the Fall in front of packed stadiums. The Orioles didn’t want to spend enough money to get him. Andy MacPhail said so on Tuesday: ”That was just too much money to spend on ... Read More »
A little bit (or a lot, actually) of sports history was made last night at Perry Hall Lanes when Rich Jerome bowled a 900-set, meaning, three consecutive 300-games. For the bowling-uninitiated, that’s 36 straight strikes over three games. Until last night, it had never been done before in the state of Maryland. And, even though local bowling ... Read More »
With only one week remaining in the regular season, the Ravens are on target to return to post-season play for the second time in three seasons. The only thing standing in their way: a visit from downtrodden Jacksonville this Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. Get ready to celebrate. There’s no way the Jags come here and ... Read More »
Trying to communicate with my Orioles’ confidant isn’t easy. Because no one at the Warehouse is allowed to speak with me (but some still do), I have to look for smoke signals and listen for sounds in the outback like Mick Dundee made in Crocodile Dundee 2. I tried to reach out to my O’s contact ... Read More »
