Drew's Bio
The only person in the history of Baltimore sports-talk to attend Game 2 of the 1983 World Series, shoot 64 in golf (twice) and sit next to Dave Grohl on a flight from Baltimore to Cleveland (1997), Drew is the host of The Comcast Morning Show from 6am-10am Monday through Friday. Topics routinely range from the Ravens, Terps and the Orioles and their decision to not improve the team for the (insert number of years here) consecutive season. His favorite movie is "Wiggle Bay" and his favorite member of Little Einstein's is June. Drew's son Ethan said, "Daddy, why do the Flyers stink so bad?" when he was only 8 days old. "Gotta start 'em young," the proud papa said that night.

Hayden Penn had his chance today and blew it. Alfredo Simon took his chance yesterday — and made the best of it. And with that, the O’s starting pitching rotation got a little more clear today when Dave Trembley announced that Simon will be one of the team’s five starters when the regular season begins next Monday ... As it now turns out, the third time is NOT the charm for me. The Orioles have produced their own hat trick of sorts, sending word down the pipeline that I have been denied a season media credential for the 2009 season. For those keeping score at home, that’s three straight years I’ve been denied. One ... Read More »
The 5th annual WNST Charity Golf Outing is set for Thursday, May 21 at Mountain Branch Golf Club in Joppa. We play a captain’s choice/scramble format with a slew of great prizes and raffle items. Tee-time on May 21 is 1pm. I am in the process of finalizing plans for our charity benefactor for ‘09 and ... Read More »
Nicklaus lovers got another face full of Tiger-dirt today in Orlando. The greatest player in the history of the game did it again today, scratching his way back from a 5-stroke deficit and making birdie at the final hole to edge Sean O’Hair and win his first tournament since coming back from knee surgery last June. It ... Read More »
As golf-crazy as I am, most of the non-major tournaments on the PGA Tour aren’t on my “must watch” list. I’m just not that interested in watching Hunter Mahan or Nick Watney or J.B. Holmes win a tournament that doesn’t have all the best players in the world competing. If you’re not handing over ... Read More »
There’s a chance this might not work out well in the end. Just call it a hunch on my part. I’m certainly not predicting it’s going to turn out bad. It doesn’t have to be that way. That said, I’m the new “ballpark reporter” for WNST and my initial goal is to make sure it DOESN’T turn out ... Read More »
One of Sean Penn’s best performances ever was as the lead in “I am Sam”. Hayden Penn put forth a performance in Ft. Lauderdale not quite as worthy. We’ll call it: ”I am Bad”. Fighting for a spot in the O’s starting pitching rotation, Penn didn’t do a whole lot to help his cause, giving up 7 ... Read More »
Just in time for the start of baseball season, we’ll be introducing the station’s new “ballpark reporter” during the Friday edition of The Comcast Morning Show. He’ll be in studio at 7:50 am on Friday and we’ll chat about the O’s ‘09 and his plans for covering the team from OPACY throughout the season. As WNST ... Read More »
The good news from today in Ft. Lauderdale: Danys Baez was informed he’s no longer a candidate for the team’s starting rotation. The bad news: Mark Hendrickson didn’t receive the same information. We’re closing in on opening day and the O’s rotation is still very much up in the air, but at least Baez won’t be serving ... Read More »
As opening day draws closer, it’s time for Baltimore baseball fans to make a decision on what to do in 2009. The smell of the grass…the crack of the ball…the crowd rising as the home team wins in the bottom of the 9th. It doesn’t get much better than that when the team you root for is ... Read More »
