Drew's Bio
The only person in the history of Baltimore sports-talk to attend Game 2 of the 1983 World Series, shoot 64 in golf (twice) and sit next to Dave Grohl on a flight from Baltimore to Cleveland (1997), Drew is the host of The Comcast Morning Show from 6am-10am Monday through Friday. Topics routinely range from the Ravens, Terps and the Orioles and their decision to not improve the team for the (insert number of years here) consecutive season. His favorite movie is "Wiggle Bay" and his favorite member of Little Einstein's is June. Drew's son Ethan said, "Daddy, why do the Flyers stink so bad?" when he was only 8 days old. "Gotta start 'em young," the proud papa said that night.

OK, it’s Tuesday in Baltimore and the Red Sox are in town. Let me be the first to welcome all of their fans to Baltimore. Thank you for spending your money here in our great city. No matter what people say to you while you’re here, we’re thrilled to host you in “Charm City” for the next ... Read More »
Another Sunday, another loss. Another loss, another handful of dumb mistakes. Another week of O’s baseball where the bad eventually outweighs the good. Is this 1999? Or 2009? Hard to tell the difference. We’re into the second “Decade of Despair” now and these minor-league’ish losses just keep building up. Base running blunders, throwing errors, throwing to the wrong base, ... Read More »
A year or so from now, if the United States National Team remains alive and well in the 2010 World Cup, they might look back on today’s embarrassing second half collapse against Brazil and remember it was then, June 28, 2009, when they got the kick in the ass they needed. Wednesday, the U.S. “shocked the ... Read More »
I found Rex Snider’s blog on soccer today to be interesting. He doesn’t have all of his facts straight, mind you, but in general, he IS sniffing around the hot spot of soccer in America. Not enough people understand it. And it wasn’t “born” here. Therefore, as Rex says, “nobody cares”. For starters, the term “nobody ... Read More »
Kind of ironic that the Marlins had 17 hits on Thursday night in their 11-3 win over the O’s. That’s as many as Michael Jackson had on Thriller. So much for that road sweep in Philadelphia. We can now classify those three straight wins as a fluke, I guess. The O’s just got their orange rumps handed to ... Read More »
Ok, enough is enough. I’ve begged and begged on the air for a call from Merton from Indianapolis and my pleadings have gone unrewarded. Rumor on the street is that he called Nestor’s show a couple of weeks back. Well? Where is Merton? I have to admit, I miss the old codger. I haven’t heard from him since the Colts ... Read More »
I can’t figure it out but maybe someone smarter than me can. How can a guy with 12 starts — and only four outings where he’s worked into the 7th inning — be hurting? Such is apparently the case with O’s starter Koji Uehara. Manager Dave Trembley revealed prior to this evening’s game in Florida that Koji ... Read More »
So, the United States “shocked the world” today with a 2-0 soccer win over Spain. Really? No, not really. They shocked US, here, in the United States. Others around the world probably think Spain’s best three players had the flu. I only saw a portion of the game, but I didn’t think Spain looked that interested, to be honest ... Read More »
Yes indeed, we’ve reached the halfway point of another work week. And it hasn’t rained for five days now. I kind of miss it. No, I don’t, actually. OK, who has a question? If you have one, ask it. If you don’t, come up with one. If you ask a question, your name goes in the hat for a free ... Read More »
I owe this little surge of adrenaline to one Glenn M. Clark. We were buzzing along nicely this morning, having played “Raised on the Radio” and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to kick-start The Comcast Morning Show, when suddenly, Glenn said: ”Oh, did you hear? Steve Melewski chimed in again about the whole “WNST-negativity thing”. Thanks, ... Read More »
