Drew's Bio
The only person in the history of Baltimore sports-talk to attend Game 2 of the 1983 World Series, shoot 64 in golf (twice) and sit next to Dave Grohl on a flight from Baltimore to Cleveland (1997), Drew is the host of The Comcast Morning Show from 6am-10am Monday through Friday. Topics routinely range from the Ravens, Terps and the Orioles and their decision to not improve the team for the (insert number of years here) consecutive season. His favorite movie is "Wiggle Bay" and his favorite member of Little Einstein's is June. Drew's son Ethan said, "Daddy, why do the Flyers stink so bad?" when he was only 8 days old. "Gotta start 'em young," the proud papa said that night.

OK, it’s Tuesday in Baltimore and the Red Sox are in town.
Let me be the first to welcome all of their fans to Baltimore. Thank you for spending your money here in our great city.
No matter what people say to you while you’re here, we’re thrilled to host you in “Charm City” for the next couple of days.
That said, make sure you tip well.
OK, now — who wants to “Ask Drew” a question?
I’m here for you. Ask away. Ask me anything, just don’t ask me about Michael Jackson. I’m not interested in talking about it. Let the man rest in peace.
Now, if you have a question about anything other than The King of Pop, I’m here to answer it.
As we’ve done for the last few weeks, we’ll be giving away a great prize to ONE of you. If your question gets answered, your name goes in the hat for either: a) a free oil change at All Tune and Lube on Reisterstown, or b) two free passes to play golf at Waverly Woods (your choice).
Ask away.
And remember, please tip well.

Drew, I’m probably going to Tiger’s Tourney this week. Can you buy tickets at the gate? What hole at Congressional is the best to watch? (DF: Yes, you can buy tix at the gate. Last year, I remember standing right next to the 10th tee and watching Anthony Kim play the par-3 10 feet in front of me. Station yourself there right next to the wall and you’ll have a great vantage point.)

Drew,
*i don’t have a real question to ask so i’ll make up something bizarre and try to get you to waste your time with it* (DF: No thanks. I’m busy today.)

Good Morning Drew,
With word going around that Suggs is close to agreeing to a long term deal, who do you see as the ravens next priority to lock up long term? (DF: Haloti Ngata, without question.)

Drew, I’m not sure if you are a Melvin Mora fan, but would you please take a moment to look at these numbers. 205 ABs, 2 HRs, 22 RBIs, 6 2Bs, 67 Total bases, etc etc. Why is he even on the team? Honestly? Don’t you think that if you left Wiggington at 3rd base for most of a season he would produce way better numbers that what we are getting out of Mora? Any team that considers themselves contenders gets production from their 3B. Your thoughts? Thanks. (DF: I think Wigginton wouldn’t produce “way better” numbers than Mora. But I also don’t disagree that his time (Mora’s) is coming to an end in Baltimore. We need an upgrade there for sure.)

Drew,
what do you think the Orioles’ final record will be this year? I’m guessing 67-95…(DF: 72-90)

Drew, what do you think the Caps do to address the departure of Sergei Federov? Also do they do any thing with the goalies? Thanks. (DF: George McPhee was on my show yesterday and basically said they’re going to stick with what they have goaltending wise. My guess is they’ll start with Theodore and Varlamov and if Neuvirth is decent they’ll bring him up in February and trade Theodore at the deadline. Just my guess… Not sure what they’re going to do in Federov’s absence.)

Drew,
Any chance that the O’s play inspired baseball against the Red Sox and win the next 2 games at home to help the cause instead of getting shutout 4-0???? (DF: Any chance? Sure. Will they? I wouldn’t bet it that way.)

The Ravens cap their waiting list for season tickets at 3,000 people, which they they say is because it allows everyone on the list a realistic shot at catually getting PSL’s. How long do you think the list would be if they had no limit on how many people could join the waiting list? Just curious because I’ve heard the Redskins have an absurdly long waiting list (which to this day I cannot understand why). (DF: I have no idea — 10,000 max? I think I heard at one point - going back to the late ’90’s, I think - that at one time the Redskins had 30,000 on their waiting list. That said, they have a larger more enthusiastic fan base than Baltimore.)

Drew, Did you qualify for the Maryland Open next month at Hillendale? I would rank Hillendale as one of my favorite courses in the state of Maryland (with the exception on the 10th hole). Do you like the course? If you did qualify, good luck! (DF: Yes, I am in the Maryland Open next month at Hillendale. Just played it yesterday, in fact. I like the golf course. #13 (par-5) is one of my favorite holes in the state.)

Drew, if someone calls you and says “it’s absolutely ridiculous that all these Boston fans are in our stadium and have taken over our town” and then quickly adds “I don’t ever go to games any more”, is there a cause-and-effect relationship there, or do they get a pass because these two statements independently are, in order, accurate and understandable? (DF: That’s a great question. Too much for me to think about. Most of the people complaining about Boston fans in the ballpark wouldn’t go even if there weren’t Boston fans there. People just don’t go to games anymore. And yes, they’re both accurate and understandable. Why go out there tonight and feel like you’re in Boston instead of Baltimore?)

Have you played congressional before? If so, what did you score? If you have not, what do you think you would score? (DF: Played it several times. 8-10 maybe. I think my best round is 73. Don’t remember exactly, but I recall once making birdie at 17 and shooting around par but that’s under the old layout when the par 3 18th was the finishing hole. Now 17 is the finishing hole. It’s an outstanding golf course. Top 5 in Maryland.)

I’m sure you noticed I left you out of the whippings I administered this week at xxxx.com (DF: removed by DF, if you want to advertise your site, pay up). Have no fear, you and your morning cohort are in my crosshairs for next week after listening to you two rail against the baseball team again today. Will you ever understand that Mr. Mojo and the rest of your very scarce audience don’t care what you think about the baseball franchise? When will that get through to you. You have no credibility. Understand. Be on the lookout for a thrashing “chief”. (DF: I think you have “scare audience” mixed up with something else you’re familiar with…based on the numbers, of course. Speaking of credibility - none or otherwise. I’ll tell you what’s credible. Ready? Lean in and I’ll whisper it to you. “alexa rankings………..” — shhhhh, it will be our little secret…hee hee)

Was wondering what you think the winning score will be at Mount Pleasant this weekend? How are you playing, Drew? I played with you last year in the Alzheimer’s Benefit event at Waverly Woods. Thanks again for a great day! (DF: I think -4 will win the Stroke Play this weekend. Mount Pleasant’s in great shape and if they get the greens fast and firm, it will be a tough par 71. My game is the best it’s been all year over the last 2-3 weeks, so I’m hopeful. Yeah, we had a great day at Waverly Woods, came up one short, if I recall! Yes, because I missed that easy putt at #1…you don’t have to remind me! Maybe I’ll see you there again this year.)

So what’s the schtick or the scam behind your banning of Rick from Reisterstown today? When’s he coming back? Tomorrow? (DF: There’s no schtick. Rick’s taking a hiatus. He’s on “indefinite suspension”. I’d never use the word “ban”…that’s a word the Birds used for Nestor. But he won’t be back in July, that’s a definite. I’ll reconsider in August.)

In light of the fact that there would never be crowds this size on a regular Monday night in Baltimore, do the Red Sox deserve 10% of the gate from this series? (DF: 10%? Are u kidding? They deserve 50% at least. Wait until the Royals come to town for four games at the end of July. There probably won’t be 40,000 live, breathing bodies in there for all four games. There were 35,000 in the stadium last NIGHT, albeit 20,000 or more with Boston shirts on…If the Orioles played in the American League Central, they’d average 13,000 a game…like the Royals do.)
