The only person in the history of Baltimore sports-talk to attend Game 2 of the 1983 World Series, shoot 64 in golf (twice) and sit next to Dave Grohl on a flight from Baltimore to Cleveland (1997), Drew is the host of The Comcast Morning Show from 6am-10am Monday through Friday. Topics routinely range from the Ravens, Terps and the Orioles and their decision to not improve the team for the (insert number of years here) consecutive season. His favorite movie is "Wiggle Bay" and his favorite member of Little Einstein's is June. Drew's son Ethan said, "Daddy, why do the Flyers stink so bad?" when he was only 8 days old. "Gotta start 'em young," the proud papa said that night.

Tillman to make debut vs. KC next week?

My little bird-in-a-tree, yes, the same one who told me earlier this year about Reimold’s call-up (the day before it happened) and Sarfate’s injury, has indicated that the plan is to have Chris Tillman make his major league debut sometime in next week’s series vs. Kansas City at Camden Yards.

When?  The “bird” didn’t know.  But Monday makes sense to me.  Jason Berken is pitching Wednesday afternoon in the Bronx. He’s likely to get lit up. Five days later, the O’s host the Royals.  That would be Berken’s turn to throw.  What better way - lowest of low risks - to bring a kid into the majors than to give Tillman the ball that night — against one of the Hapless Brothers…the Royals?

He’d then face Boston over the weekend at home.  Two starts, two home games.

Makes sense to me.

Then again, I’m only reporting what I’ve been told up in the tree.

Of course, Rich Hill and Berken could both dazzle us over the next 28 hours or so and we’d have to re-think all of this, right?

I know, pigs will fly.

So let’s see how it plays out.  Does Tillman come up next week against KC?  Monday makes sense.

My “bird” thinks so.  And he should know.

Let’s see if he does.

  2. Rumor: Chris Tillman to be called up for the KC series? | The Epic Sports Wagering Broadcast Says:

[...] According to Drew Forrester at WNST, Chris Tillman is likely to make his Orioles debut next week during the Kansas City Royals series. I don’t normally pay much attention to Forrester or WNST due to their constant Oriole bashing, but I happen to have WNST on my Twitter feed and saw this tidbit. [...]

  3. Mike Oxbig Says:

Of course you are only parroting what has been told to you. WNST doesn’t actually do any reporting. Your station just compiles information. (DF: I thought reporting was having sources who tell you stuff? Isn’t that what Chris Mortensen does? Peter Gammons? When my “source” called me the day Joe Foss quit and I reported it five hours before anyone else, was that “reporting” or “compiling information”? Never mind, I know the answer. So do you.)

  4. Mike Oxbig Says:

I know this post has as much of a chance of showing up on your blog (STOP) — (DF: You made a bunch of very valid points in your response. The problem is — your fake name and fake e-mail address (unless you really do have an e-mail address with “lickmynuts” in it) means your comments are just as valid as your identity. When you grab that pipe and take a hit like Denzel made Ethan do in “Training Day” - in other words, when you MAN-UP and give your real information - your comments will be posted in their entirety.)

  5. Bob from Parkville (not that Bob) Says:

Wow, I wonder what Mike Oxbig’s defintion of “reporting” is?? I hope he logs back in and tells us. Maybe this is the guy who taught Greg Bader everything he knows about marketing…

  7. Jeff Ashton Says:

There you go. What will your excuse be now? (DF: Excuse for what? That e-mail address? It’s a fake. Your real e-mail is “jashton70″…etc….I gave you the chance to be legit but you couldn’t do it.)
