I first sat down to write this blog upon hearing that the Orioles had hired Buck Showalter to be the next captain of the Titanic. I then started all over again upon hearing that Miguel Tejada has once again been traded by the Orioles to a contending NL team. I guess I’ll deal with the ... Read More »
So Dave Trembley is gone. Made such a huge difference having Juan Samuel in charge, didn’t it? Clay Buchholz wipes the floor with the Orioles yet again, 11-0. The dismissal of Dave Trembley actually caused more of a stir in the sports media than I thought it would. There seems to be a consensus among ... Read More »
I spent today out on the farm cutting firewood, which is my little side income for my days off. Typically, I will park my truck nearby, roll down the windows, and listen to talk radio all day as I’m sawing and splitting. Then, in the evening, I’ll flip it to the baseball game and leave ... I originally wrote this a couple years ago, and I thought now was a good time to republish it. Hope to see you all on Monday night! If there’s one thing an Orioles fan knows, it’s how to cope with heartaches. We still remember how we started 0-21 and went on to lose 107 games ... Read More »
I left this as a comment to Rex’s post, but I thought it might be a some more notice if I put it here too… You’ve got some nerve, buddy. First of all, the date today is April 11, 2010. That date comes two months after February 8, 2010. And as of yet, I still don’t see ... Read More »
Perhaps I was expecting too much going into this year. I don’t know what the record will look like by September, but I do know that the Orioles should be 3-1 right now and instead they’re 1-3. I also don’t know what led the coaching staff to decide that Mike Gonzalez was going to be ... Read More »
ESPN’s Tony Kornheiser became the latest victim of political correctness this week when he was suspended for a fortnight from his TV show Pardon The Interruption. The suspension is for comments Tony made on his radio show about the outfit fellow ESPN anchor Hannah Storm was wearing that day. The quote in full: “Hannah Storm ... Read More »
Miguel Tejada is an Oriole once more. I have to admit I was surprised by this news, and my first question was what number he’ll be wearing this time, because I doubt Adam Jones will give him back #10. I really wasn’t sorry to see him go two years ago, although I did sympathize with his ... Read More »
For the second week in a row, we’ve seen the Pittsburgh Steelers lose in overtime. While Ravens fans may be enjoying this immensely, the fact remains that the NFL’s overtime rules are fundamentally flawed and need to change. This is a perennial complaint of mine that I’m finally going to put into print. As it ... Read More »
Rush Limbaugh has been dropped from the group bidding on the St. Louis Rams for being a “divisive figure”. To hear all about it, tune in to NBC’s Sunday Night Football with Keith Olbermann! I know I promised I wouldn’t talk politics here in my sports blog, but when the two worlds collide like this ... Read More »
