» Glenn's Bio

When Pop-a-Shot basketball becomes an Olympic sport, Glenn Clark will win the gold, silver AND bronze. In the meantime, he's continuing his career as a Baltimore sports media person. We say "person" because he has too many jobs to describe them all right now. You hear him on "The Comcast Morning Show" & talking about the Ravens throughout the day on WNST. You read his columns on WNST.net, and if you're a female you've been awkwardly hit on by him at least once. If not, he says you should give him a call. He's been accused of being the adopted son of Gary Williams, and will fight you if you don't think Roberto Alomar belongs in the Hall of Fame. He prefers lacrosse to baseball, Robert Randolph to Led Zeppelin, Blue Moon to red wine, and Chick-Fil-A to anything.

Tuesday Morning’s Crabs and Beer

I don’t know how I feel about the idea of the Orioles moving to “Dodgertown.” There’s a part of me that says that everything else about the identity and history of this organization has been stripped away; so why shouldn’t they go play in a place that is the real home of the Dodgers?
There is also a piece of me that thinks that the Birds would be better suited getting a new place in Fort Lauderdale, and continuing to try to carve out their own identity in their own Spring home.
I think I lean more to the latter-or at least the blind homer in me does. This organization shouldn’t go to a town where the fans will be ways away from adopting them; and should try to soak up as much as they can in Fort Lauderdale while they are rebuilding.
“Dodgertown” might be a nice place for a team like the Nationals with no history; but I’m not sure it’s the best spot for the Birds.
(This is clearly a moot point if Fort Lauderdale can’t come up with a facility the Birds can use for their minor league camp.)
Let’s see what everyone else has to say….

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-Happy Birthday Gary. As I’ve stated before; I am firmly behind you, and support the fact that there are few coaches in the game who offer as complete a package as you do in the role of Head Coach. You’re a Hall of Famer; and I know that things will continue to improve at my beloved school while you are there. You deserve to be celebrated. Unfortunately; tough losses make some people say things that are a little extra emotional. As someone who cares dearly about the University; I offer you my support.
-Congratulations to Crystal Langhorne, Marissa Coleman, Kristi Toliver, Laura Harper, Greg Sprink, Billy Lange, Gerald Brown, Michael Tuck, and Brian Rudolph for receiving postseason honors.
-This young Maryland Lacrosse team is in better shape than I thought they might be at this point. Good to see they bounced back from a tough loss to Duke over the weekend. Go see UMBC play Johns Hopkins tonight (7, Homewood Field).
-I don’t think the Ravens will find a CB in Free Agency from the Eagles; or from any other team. I think the Draft will supply the team’s answers at Corner.
Talk to you tomorrow.
-G
