Glenn Clark

» Glenn's Bio

When Pop-a-Shot basketball becomes an Olympic sport, Glenn Clark will win the gold, silver AND bronze. In the meantime, he's continuing his career as a Baltimore sports media person. We say "person" because he has too many jobs to describe them all right now. You hear him on "The Morning Reaction" & talking about the Ravens throughout the day on WNST. You read his columns on WNST.net, and if you're a female you've been awkwardly hit on by him at least once. If not, he says you should give him a call. He's been accused of being the adopted son of Gary Williams, and will fight you if you don't think Roberto Alomar belongs in the Hall of Fame. He prefers lacrosse to baseball, Robert Randolph to Led Zeppelin, Blue Moon to red wine, and Chick-Fil-A to anything.

Here’s your Ravens Report Card for their win over the Browns:

Quarterback: A-

I know he put up a personal record 342 yards in the victory, but there WERE areas where Joe could improve. He STILL seems to overthrow Ray Rice in dangerous spots on the field; but he has been very good otherwise.

Running Backs: A

In fairness, Drew and I could have probably run behind the holes that offensive line was giving them. The only area that this unit could improve is seeing more explosiveness from space from Ray Rice. That will come with his touches. Willis McGahee has been absolutely tremendous.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends: A-

Kelley Washington and Derrick Mason were tremendous again yesterday. It was nice to see LJ Smith get involved as well. It is still frustrating to not see Demetrius Williams contribute.

Offensive Line: A+

I would put more pluses on this if I could. That was one of the most impressive performances I have EVER seen from an offensive line. Only Jared Gaither’s penalty was a mistake. Through three weeks, this has been the team’s best unit.

Defensive Line: A

Not that I thought the Browns would run on this team, but they didn’t. There could still be more pressure here, but we’re basically nitpicking.

Linebackers: A-

Need more pressure, and they cannot lose their assignments like they did a couple times yesterday on short passing plays. Otherwise, this was another very good game for their unit.

Secondary: B+

This is going to look like a bad grade, but it isn’t. Ed Reed with a bad penalty on Joshua Cribbs (he said he thought the ball was uncatchable, but he clearly mistimed that hit), and Mike Furrey wiggled free a few times. But they really did play well.

Special Teams: B+

Again, B+ is a REALLY good grade. Don’t forget that. This team needs to figure out what’s going on in the return game. They really need more explosiveness, and ability to use returns as an offensive weapon. Chris Carr has been disappointing. He doesn’t need TD’s, he just needs to create.

Coaching: A

I thought (like Drew) that John Harbaugh left Joe Flacco in the game too long. Other than that, it is hard to criticize a win like that.

Let’s see what everyone else has to say…..
