Houston and good health

We’re in a really good groove right now and it’s a lot of fun for us.  Not only have we won three straight games but we’re practicing hard and everyone is very focused on what we have to do on a week-to-week basis.

I know this was supposed to be our bye week but maybe it’s good for us that we just keep
on rolling along and keep up the momentum we’ve established.  Obviously we are going to need to go to Houston and play well to sustain that momentum but it’s been a lot of fun the last few weeks and it seems like we’re in a real good rhythm.

Every week the coaching staff just reminds us to keep our heads down, study the game plan, practice hard and have fun on Sunday.  And everyone is doing that.

Personally, I feel very good right now.

We played 15 games at Delaware last year (12 regular season, 3 playoffs) so it’s not like I haven’t gone through a long schedule before.  One of the reasons I feel so good at this point in the season is because the offensive players have done such a great job protecting me all year. They’re a big reason why I’m healthy and feeling fresh early in November.  Believe me, I don’t take it for granted and I appreciate them.

So it’s off to Houston on Saturday.  I’ve never been there so I’m looking forward to getting to a new city, even though we don’t do much on the road except get ready to play the game.  That’s one thing I can say for sure about life in the NFL.  You go on the road, you get to the city where you’re playing at 3 or 4 in the afternoon on Saturday and then you start getting ready for the game.  Meetings, game plan reviews and all that stuff.  My road roommate is fellow-rookie Marcus Smith.  He’s a really good guy and we are just taking it all in and enjoying our first year in the league.  But a win in Houston would make the trip better, that’s for sure!

Hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll catch up with Drew at 8:30am on Tuesday to chat about the game and get ready for the Giants next week.

    Joe,

    Good Luck versus the Texans.

When you get inside Reliant Stadium, look up. Is the roof gone????? According to Texan owner Drayton McClane, that is why this game could not be played in week #2 on 9/14 but was safe enough to host the Indianapolis IRSAYS on 10/5!!!!??

While I agree with your opinion, that it is great to keep the momentum going by playing consecutive weeks without a bye, please do not forget that you practiced during week #2 to prepare for the Texans and should have a solid game plan installed for this Sunday. The game was moved from a Sunday afternoon 1PM, 9/14 start to a Monday night 8:30PM, 9/15 start by the Commissioner’s Office only to be cancelled when IKE hit land on Friday, 9/13. What no contingency plan Commissioner Goodell???? Keeping the home game revenue for Drayton McClane was paramount in the decision making process.

Therefore, KICK THE TEXANS BUTTS to go 6-3!!!!!

Great game today! This Saturday at Delaware was Joe Flacco day (I think Delaware’s third color has become purple, with the amount of flacco jerseys in the crowd this season)…and everyone loved the video messages and when they showed your highlight reel, even the players were glued to the screen. And the Blue Hens even pulled out a win again Towson!!

Quick question though, why was Chalk Talk at Mother’s Federal Hill cancelled? A lot of us Delaware alums were hoping to get a chance to say hello. We hope it’ll be able to be rescheduled.

Best of luck against the giants!!

Joe! You and your teammates are doing AWESOME! Congrats on the 3 wins in a row. Nothing would please me more to see you guys take Pittsburgh right out of the division title and playoffs! I’m so glad you are staying healthy. Knowing you for as long as I have, it seems you are cool as a cucumber and that you are playing beyond your years. I don’t think the Ravens organization or anyone else for that matter is questioning them picking you up in the first round now! Keep rolling Joe! I hope this message finds you. Cheers!
