We’ve worked hard this week to get ready for the Redskins. I’ve been out in the community a little bit this week and I can sense that a Baltimore-Washington game has some extra special meaning to it for the fans. We’re not downplaying that the game is important to the fans but what matters most to us is winning. It doesn’t matter who we play, we need to win on Sunday. That’s our approach every week.
The team we’re playing doesn’t matter…what matters is winning!
I feel really good at the 12-game mark of the season and I have my offensive line and the rest of the guys who do the blocking to thank for that. The game is very physical and I’ve taken my fair share of hard hits this year but a big reason I’ve stayed healthy is because of the protection I’ve received.
We’re looking forward to Sunday night. I hope those of you who are going have a great time at the game. I’ll talk with Drew on Tuesday at 8:30 am.

Joe,
A national TV game flexed onto NBC’s Football Night in America means nothing unless the Ravens are 9-4 after 13 games played in the regular season!!!!
It is imperative that the Ravens keep pace in the win total by getting #9 against the Redskins. Coach Harbaugh has been masterful in the one game at a time theory. Under Coach Billick, the Ravens’ national TV record can be dismissed with this crucial victory Sunday Night!!!!
Good Luck Joe—–Get us to 9-4!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Joe for putting the focus back where it belongs, on going out and winning the football game. It is unfortunate that the local media is playing this jedi mind trick and convincing the fans that this is The Battle of the Beltway and there is a rivalry between the Ravens and the Redskins. Nothing could be further from the truth. When the whistle blows Sunday night, it’s “go time” and when the game is over we will be 9-4.

The last two times the Redskins played a regular season game in Baltimore was in 1977 and 1978 both on Monday Night. I went with ? (I forgot his name opps) but we had a ball. Back in the mid seventies even with the Colts winning three division titles, old Memorial Stadium only sold out once or twice a year. The Colts always sold out at home against arch rival Miami and when the Skins came to town. Back then Memorial Stadium was filled with about 60% Colt Fans and 40% Redskin fans. The Redskin Fans were annoying, but not nearly as obnoxious as the Pittsburgh scum. In 1977 the Colts were favored to win the AFC East Division title and beat the Skins 10-7. In 1978 the Colts lost many key players and the Skins were challenging the Cowboys for the NFC East Title. Even with a beat up Bert Jones, the Colts went on to beat the Skins 21- 17. They were some fun times and I can’t wait until tonight to hopefully keep the home winning streak against the Skins alive.

Joe,
Per the Skins game, when scrambling on a broken play, please try the slide move or run out of bounds. Leading with your shoulder and bracing for a collision isn’t the way to go. We need you out there with all moving parts in working order!
At least you turned and led with the left shoulder instead of the right.
