According to the Minneapolis media machine, highly intelligent center Matt Birk — he graduated from Harvard — is here in Baltimore talking shop with the Ravens brass today. Hopefully, he’s smart enough to sign here and make our offensive line better.

FYI: per Pro Football Talk, Birk is represented by Joe Flacco’s agent, Joe Linta. Incidentally, I met Linta in Tampa at the Super Bowl. He’s a good dude…

I feel Matt Birk would be a huge signing for the Ravens. With his expertise @ his position picking up the blitzing schemes of our opponents defense would only make our o-line better. Nothing against Jason Brown but with Birk’s resume (NFL employment of 10-11 yrs.,6 pro bowls,& 2 all pro teams)speaks for itself. He has seen defensive alignments that he will point out to Flacco that will make him even more poised than he already is.I would’nt allow him out of owings mills without an agreement! He will anchor the o-line for about 3 or 4 years. So offer the man a contract that a center of his stature could not turn down.Flacco will be in the pro bowl in the near future I think we all agree on that but with Birk’s tutoring he could be an all-pro QB. Birk could potentially be a hall-of-famer down the road. His resume is proof of that.Plus you know about his smarts just graduating from Harvard. So the Ravens should do Flacco & the rest of the organization a favor & Just Sign Birk!
