Vince's Bio
Former sports public relations/promotions manager with the Baltimore Spirit/Blast, Baltimore Bandits and Maryland Bays, Vince now enjoys watching sports from the cheap seats. He also can usually be found running charity golf and lacrosse tournaments for a local nonprofit. He bleeds purple and black and don't even get him started about Pittsburgh. He enjoys kicking back at local college football and basketball games or he can be seen enjoying baseball games in the summer. Oh yeah, the Yankees and Duke aren't high on his list either. He brings the knowledge of someone who worked in sports combined with the passion of the fan.

Like a lot of people right now I have raw emotions running through me about Ray Lewis. While I am trying to stay somewhat unattached and dispassionate on this, I can only say I am disappointed in Ray Lewis and his advisors. Look, I more than most fans understand the business of sports. After all, ... Read More »
So for the record, the season ended on January 18, 2009, with a 23-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tough to swallow is putting it mildly. Losing stinks; losing to your hated rival in the AFC Championship is even worse. But now as the off-season has already begun, it’s time to reflect and say thank ... Read More »
When the Ravens hired John Harbaugh as their coach last January, it was presumed that owner Steve Bisciotti wanted a culture change and a different voice. While many, especially those inside the NFL, thought Harbaugh was the right man for the job, few thought he could accomplish this in one season. I have to admit ... Read More »
Tired, injured, on the road and now on their way to the AFC Championship Game. Even as I write this I can’t really comprehend how the Ravens have gone from 5-11 to one game away from the Super Bowl. It finally looked like the 17 straight games had caught up to the purple and black ... Read More »
There is an old adage in boxing: kill the body and the head will die. On Sunday, the Ravens administered body blows to Chad Pennington and watched the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year wilt with five turnovers. The Ravens front seven pounded Pennington, applying relentless pressure that forced the Dolphins QB into four turnovers. ... Read More »
Beyond the stars like Ray Lewis, Joe Flacco or Derrick Mason or the solid veterans like Lorenzo Neal, Bart Scott and Samari Rolle, there is a sub class of players known as role players. Every team has them, and the good role players can make an average team into a playoff team. They add what ... Read More »
The biggest surprise for the Ravens in this young season is the play of its equally young offensive line. Remember during preseason when injuries had wrecked the unit and undaunted defenders came along the perimeter against a guy who was pouring concrete for a living? We were all wondering if any of our quarterbacks could make ... Read More »
When Nestor asked me to do a blog almost a year ago, he told me write blogs as a fan as someone with an insider’s knowledge who sits in the stands and has a passion for the games. This blog is dedicated to such a person, a true sports fan. Sam Bavaro was such a ... Read More »
I am sure some of you are not happy about the Ravens game being moved first to Monday night and now it appears the game could be cancelled altogether because of Hurricane Ike. Many of you probably have plane and game tickets, which now can’t be changed. Others probably had big plans for tomorrow, like a party with friends ... Read More »
Wow! That is about all I can say after today’s Ravens home opener. What an electric atomphsere in the stands on a beautiful if not slightly hot day. First, Joe Flacco was unbelievable. I know the stats aren’t Hall of Fame worthy, but Flacco’s performance was so much more than numbers. The poise, the presence in the pocket, and ... Read More »
