Blast Push Past Silver Knights

The Syracuse Silver Knights visited Baltimore, Saturday February 22nd, for the final regular season home game in front of 8,385 fans. The Blast improved their record to 15-3 with a 10-9 win over the Silver Knights.

The Blast got on the board early in the game with a goal from Lucio Gonzaga, assisted by Mike Lookingland. One minute later Tony Donatelli scored to give the Blast a 4-0 lead.  The Silver Knights’, Nelson Santana, scored a three-point goal 12:56 into the first quarter, with a pass from Corey Elenio. With the quarter winding down, J.T. Noone finds Max Ferdinand for a late goal.  At the end of the first quarter, the Blast led the Knights 6-2.

Mike Lookingland assisted Tony Donatelli for a power play goal 2:44 into the second quarter. Nate Bourdeau got the Silver Knights on the board again from an assist by Bo Jelovac. At half time, the Blast were ahead 8-5.

Syracuse Silver Knight, Antonio Manfut found Bo Jelovac for a late goal. Seconds later Lucio Gonzaga found the back of the net after a pass from Mike Lookingland. At the end of the quarter the Blast led the Knights 10-7.

The Knights add the only score in the fourth quarter with a goal from Neto, assisted by Corey Elenio.  At the final whistle the Blast improved their record to 15-3 and beat the Knights 10-9.

The Blast were led by Tony Donatelli and Lucio Gonzaga with 2 goals each in tonight’s win against the Knights. Mike Lookingland contributed 3 assists to the Blast victory.  William Vanzela protected the net with 10 saves, while the Baltimore defense held the Knights to only 9 points.

The Baltimore Blast are traveling to Rochester to play the Lancers tomorrow for their third game this weekend. The Blast are looking to improve their record to 3-0 against the Lancers. With only two games remaining before the playoffs, the Blast carry a seven game winning streak into Rochester.
