Casey at the Bat: Conservative Daniel

April 26, 2007 | WNST Staff

Did Daniel Cabrera get too conservative versus Kevin Youkilis?

I think so. Daniel had a 0-2 count on Youkilis, and then proceeded to throw four straight balls to him. Youkilis was going to be the last batter Cabrera faced, no matter what. There was no way that Perlozzo was going to let him face Ortiz — at least I wouldn’t have.

When Cabrera gave up a HR in the 2nd inning to Alex Cora, that was the first homerun he allowed in 56 2/3 innings (since 9/6/06).

Is there a better one-two punch in all of baseball than Ortiz and Manny?
