Major League Baseball announced their Home Run Derby lineup on Monday, and Baltimore fans heard a familiar name called. Orioles third basement Manny Machado will represent Birdland in Monday’s Home Run Derby in Cincinnati. 2015 marks the first year of the new derby format, which includes a bracket style competition in which players square off head to head against each other as they move through the bracket. Machado, ranked as the #5 seed, will face #4 seed Joc Pederson in the first round.
Machado is hitting .301 on the season and already has hit a career-high 19 home runs. He has quickly emerged as one of the best young players in baseball, and his power will be on display in the 2015 Home Run Derby.
