The Orioles announced Saturday that they have selected the contract of outfielder Julio Borbon from Double-A Bowie and optioned right-handed pitcher Mike Wright to Triple-A Norfolk.
Borbón, 30, hit .275/.336/.362 (111-for-403) with nine doubles, four triples, six home runs, and 25 RBI in 106 games with the Baysox this season. He leads the Double-A Bowie in runs scored (59) and stolen bases (28). In five games with the Orioles this season, Borbón has batted .222/.222/.222 (2-for-9) with a run scored. He has hit .272/.317/.346 (217-for-798) with 19 doubles, eight triples, eight home runs, and 76 RBI over 293 career Major League games.
Wright, 26, went 3-4 with a 5.89 ERA (48 ER/73.1 IP) over 16 games (12 starts) with the Orioles this season.
