Having not even completed their first rookie minicamp of the spring, the Ravens have wasted no time in signing eight of their nine 2015 draft picks to rookie contracts.
Baltimore announced Friday afternoon that seven of their nine choices had signed contracts before third-round defensive tackle Carl Davis announced via Twitter later in the evening that he had signed his contract. First-round wide receiver Breshad Perriman is the only Ravens draft choice not to have signed a contract, but he was present and participating during this weekend’s minicamp in Owings Mills.
Since the introduction of the latest collective bargaining agreement in 2011, rookie signings have become little more than a formality with a slotting system that includes standard four-year deals for all draft picks. Teams may exercise a fifth-year option for first-round picks.
