Baltimore Coaching Changes…MISL PREVIEW 12-13-07

December 13, 2007 | WNST Interns

The Baltimore Blast looks to rebound after dropping their last three games. It will be difficult with trips to Monterrey and California on tap this weekend. Danny Kelly’s team needs to be put under the microscope if they return winless from this road trip. I believe Blast General Manager Kevin Healey and his staff have to be looking to make major changes maybe even at the coaching level if this streak continues. Let’s remember Tim Wittman built the last Championship team here in Baltimore and Danny Kelly with all due respect is still learning his craft. Injuries aside I think he has been over his head the last two years. In just two weeks the Blast has fallen from the top of the standings to middle of the pack. The easy schedule in the beginning of the season was just a shell game as now the class of the leagues teams have stepped up and handled Baltimore quite easily. Like the Ravens they have no offensive creativity or imagination once they cross half field. Unfortunately I don’t see enough on this current team to overcome the better teams in the MISL until changes are made. Look for the losing streak to reach five in a row and look for changes before January if the Blast has the courage to do something the Ravens do not which is trade or change the head coach. If I had the power I would trade Neto and Sagu to Orlando (both have Florida ties) for the Sharks J.P. Rodriguez and the rights to Brian Rowland or Gaston Pernia. Next I would hire Lee Tschantret as player/coach and surely the team spirit would be raised and the embarrassing flat effort at home last week would never, ever, be repeated. I’m still awaiting my refund for that performance last weekend.

The other teams who actually are playing well match up this weekend in a home and home series with the Wave and Storm crossing paths in what should be an excellent match-up. The other match-ups have MISL regulars vs. expansion teams. I don’t see much success except for maybe New Jersey vs. Philadelphia for the new comers to the MISL this weekend. However I do smell an Orlando road upset vs Philadelphia this weekend. Below are my predicted out comes in ().
