Old-school wrestling and a big month for a UFC

Have you ever seen something and it brings back so many memories of when you were younger? Well for me I found an old school, and when I say old-school, I mean real old school DVD that brought back so many memories. A company called Universal Wrestling Alliance, has produced a bunch of videos featuring Mid South Wrestling. For those that are not aware, I grew up in Louisiana, and my earliest memories was of pro wrestling that came from the Irish McNeil Boys Club in Shreveport, La., on our television in the form of Mid South Wrestling. When you look at the roster of people that were there from: Rick Flair (as he was called while he was there), Rick Rood (later Rick Rude), Hacksaw Butch Reed, Andre the Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Terry Taylor, Iceman King Parsons, The Rock n Roll Express, and a young Jim Ross.
To say the least, it was a great purchase, and brought back a lot of very, very good memories.
Moving on to my other favorite sport, this is a HUGE month for the UFC. Coming up Saturday there is going to be a big FREE fight on Spike TV. Rampage Jackson and Dan Henderson will fight in the main event to unify the UFC and Pride Light heavyweight titles which is a huge moment in MMA. Also on the card will be Michael Bisping against Matt Hamill, both of these guys were on The Ultimate Fighter 3. Matt Hamill is deaf and during TUF 3 he and Bisping had their differences as teammates, which should lead to a great fight. Also a former guest on the Rob Long Show, Houston Alexander will make his return to the Octagon after destroying Keith Jardine.
I would highly recommend checking out this event Saturday night.
Also this month you have UFC fight night on Sep. 19th for free on Spike TV, and immediately following that card The Ultimate Fighter 6 starts with Team Matt Hughes versus Team Matt Serra, who I am pulling for. Of course I am a little partial after attending a seminar by Matt Serra here at Ground Control in Baltimore. Then on Sep. 22, Chuck Liddell will return after his loss to Rampage Jackson to face Keith Jardine.
What a great month this is going to be.
