O’s making history, and a local banking mogul will make you come clean

Like WNST’s Ken Zalis, I will give my angle on the Orioles once again blowing a lead — this time in biblical proportions — then be done with it. Maybe it was the spirit of Wild Bill spitting down from above, on what has happened to his beloved O-R-I-O-L-E-S over the past ten years, so, about that bum kicking …

The O’s are a local train wreck, now the rest of the nation knows. How great was it that our newly signed draftee, Matt Wieters, got to see his future team make history! Boy, I bet he went back to his hotel and stuck a pen his ear, so he could fail the team physical. Now another loss tonight (5-2), and could someone tell Palmer enough with the Botox …

Feeling Dirty?

Your ride that is, so take your vehicle to the Du Burns Arena Friday, for a wash and shine by one of Baltimore’s finest, Ed Hale. It’s going to be a good ole fashioned car wash to raise money for the Jane’s Legacy Foundation. This foundation is very near and dear to 1st Mariner Bank’s top-dollar man, Edwin Hale; he lost his sister, Jane Hale Jones, to breast cancer in 2006.

Now it will cost ya, to have Hale wash your car. It will cost $50, all other celebs who are there cost $20, and a minimum donation of $10 for a great wash.

Also feel free to bring any gently-used items for The Jane’s Legacy Bazaar on September 1, 2007. For more info e-mail me at

What: Car wash to benefit Jane’s Legacy Foundation
When: Friday, August 24, 2007, 12-4 p.m.
Where: Du Burns Arena

Want Ed Hale to wash your car? That will cost you $50, but it will be worth every penny because not only will your car washed by the Chairman & CEO of 1st Mariner Bank, but you’ll have photo evidence to hang in your office. And every penny goes straight to Jane’s Legacy Foundation. Ed will be washing cars from noon until 1 p.m. You won’t want to miss this!

All other celebrity carwashes cost $20 and will come with a keepsake photo. Here are some of the other "celebrities" who will be washing cars that day:

– A team of Elvis impersonators (they may even serenade you while they wash!)
– Blast players
– Blast cheerleaders

When you come to get your car washed, we invite you to drop off new or gently used items, antiques and crafts to be sold at the 1st Annual Bazaar to benefit Jane’s Legacy Foundation, which will be held at Du Burns Arena on Saturday, Sept. 1 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Jane Hale Jones lost her battle with breast cancer in 2006. She left behind a loving family and a legacy of positivity and generosity.
Jane’s Legacy Foundation is her family’s way of carrying on her spirit and supporting the causes that meant so much to her, including Susan G. Komen for the Cure. All proceeds from both the car wash and bazaar will donated by the Hale family to the charities that Jane held close to her heart.
