Sunday Morning Thoughts

-The LSU Tigers scared me yesterday with their game versus Tulane. I can honestly say that I never would have dreamed that Tulane would have been beating LSU. In the end they were able to pull out the win 34-9. Next week they have Florida which should be a great game.
-Great win by the Terps yesterday. To be able to rebound and beat a good Rutgers team was impressive. Have to give Ralph and his guy’s credit for being able to bounce back after last week’s let down.
– Actually watched the Jermaine Taylor- Kelly Pavlik fight last night…..mainly because it was free on HBO, impressive win by Pavlik. Larry Merchant is the most boring interviewer in history. Pavlik had just won the title and Merchant is trying to interview him like it is a Barbara Walters “This is your life”, session. WOW
-Now that the MLB playoffs are about to start, I am pulling for the Chicago Cubs. I was a Cubs fan growing up. Mark Grace, Steve Buechele, Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, Jerome Walton, Lance Johnson, Jody David, Damon Berryhill, Shawon Dunston,George Bell, Mike Bielecki, and the great Turk Wendell. Mark Grace was my favorite baseball player growing up, he was the reason I wanted to play 1st base and wear # 17. So I still pull for them quietly and hope they win the World Series. Now I need to get a Cubs hat and Mark Grace jersey.
-Plan on watching more NBA this year and am going to pick the Orlando Magic as my team to watch. I like to young talent they have on this team and think they can surprise some people this year. Reminds me of my younger days when I was pulling for the Magic when Shaq, Penny Hardaway, Dennis Scott, Rony Seiklay, and others where running the show. Remember how Penny was going to be the next Michael Jordan? Can we please stop saying every NBA prospect will be the next Bird, Magic, Jordan, Shaq, etc., etc. There will never be guys like that.
-Some new music that I have listened to that I like: Kanye West, Will I Am, Down (for those of you that may not know, couple former members of Pantera), and Kenny Chesney.
-Ok, now that I have bored everyone to death, Ravens 27 – 13.
