Turning Laps at the ‘Monster Mile

June 05, 2007 | WNST Interns

We’re officially underway at Dover. There hasn’t been much to really report, yet. These guys have played alot of "follow the leader" today …. hoping to get at least 200 laps in the books. Although, the race is slated for 400 laps …. they only need to run 200 to qualify the event as an official race …. kinda like 5 innings in baseball.

Honestly, after today’s first 100 laps …. a casual observer would be doubting the excitement assured by diehard fans. There’s been no real action …. no crashes, blown engines or adverse cirumstances. I can’t help but think that if Nestor tagged along, he’d be saying "dude, this stuff is more painful than watching an O’s game."

I hope the action heats up. I think it will …. it always does.
